A New Hampshire native, Vince made his way onto the New York jazz scene through his enrollment in the Jazz Studies program at William Paterson University. He first began playing electric bass in his early teenage years and picked up the double bass in high school where he first was exposed to jazz. At age nineteen, he became the full-time bassist for Winard Harper’s band, Jeli Posse. He took part in Betty Carter’s Jazz Ahead program at the Kennedy Center in Washington D.C. as part of its class of 2016, as well the Ravinia Steans Music Institute in Chicago the same year. He has had the opportunity to perform in clubs like Washington D.C.'s Blues Alley, Chicago’s Jazz Showcase, and Boston’s Scullers and has played festivals such as the Mid-Atlantic Jazz Festival, Charlie Parker Jazz Festival, and Jersey City Jazz Festival. He can be heard frequently at New York City clubs like Smalls, Mezzrow and Smoke.
He has performed with Harold Mabern, Russell Malone, Winard Harper, George Coleman, Larry Fuller, Lew Tabackin, Harry Allen, Toshiko Akiyoshi, Jimmy Heath, Slide Hampton, Grant Stewart, Bill Pierce, Yoron Israel, Vincent Herring, Eric Alexander, Rossano Sportiello, Ray Gallon, J.D. Allen, Lucy Yeghiazaryan, and many more.
Vince was most recently awarded 1st place in the International Society of Bassist’s Scott LaFaro Jazz Competition of 2021.
